In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, our 3rd grade students had two special visitors come to share about their Mexican culture and current positions in the US Navy today. The students were highly engaged and had lots of wonderful questions for our guests!
Today Ms. Gallagher and Mr. Walsh's class visited the Memorial Art Gallery to culminate their arts integration unit on ancient Mesopotamia and Egypt! The students even got to check out a mummy! Ms. Drago and Ms. Cahill's class will visit tomorrow, and Ms. Wedderburn's class will check it out next week.

A huge shout out to the mural artists who created RA's interior murals over the years!! As of today, we now have photos and descriptions hanging by the murals to recognize each artist. A huge shout out as well to Shawn Dunwoody and our student mural artists for our first exterior mural! We LOVE it. This trimester our 6th grade students are learning about the art and writing in ancient Egypt and Mesopotamia during arts integration.
Yesterday, an educator from the Memorial Art Gallery taught a lesson to our students on the Ancient Egyptian and Mesopotamian artifacts at the gallery.
In a couple of weeks the students will take a field trip there to check them out!

To help ease the stress of heading back to class, Touch of Perfection On the Go (James Hailey, event organizer) and In Christ New Hope Ministry are teaming up to host the 3rd annual Back to School Giveaway with a variety of activities, resources, and fun to get students ready for school! The event is free and will provide guests with food, school supplies, hair cuts, nail painting, and some family friendly fun! The third annual Back To School Giveaway takes place on Saturday, September 2, from 1PM to 7PM at 525 West Avenue, Rochester NY 14611.
