Please join us for our first RAFFA Meeting of the new year on Wednesday, January 25, 2023, at the downtown Central Library - 115 South Avenue, from 6:15 pm - 7:45 pm. This event will be fun, engaging, and informative. RA's ELA Instructional Coaches (grades, K - 3 and 4 - 6 ) will kick the night off and share some valuable information as it pertains to State testing and ELA strategies to use at home. Families will explore the library, visit a few stations, complete the assigned activities, and go on a scavenger hunt to win raffle prizes. Our students have been learning more about Harriet Tubman in the library over the past few weeks thanks to the generosity of the Wofford Sculpture Studio and Jacqueline Sprague from JW Management! Thank you so much for allowing us to display this beautiful Harriet Tubman Maquette in our school. What a wonderful way to integrate visual art with social studies and reading!
Due to a water main break in the city of Rochester, there is no bussing available for Renaissance Academy's RCSD students. As a result, school will be canceled for ALL RA students on Thursday, December 22, 2022. The RA staff wishes you a safe and happy holiday.
Next week (December 19-22) is Spirit Week at RA! Students who are wearing their spirit week attire do not need to wear their uniforms.

RA's annual Student Winter Concert will be held on Wednesday, December 21st, at 6:30pm. This year we have almost 120 students participating! The students have been busy practicing in the choir, learning songs on their instruments, and rehearsing dances. If your child is a part of the concert, you will receive a permission slip either today or tomorrow. Please sign and return the permission slips by Monday, December 12th. Thank you!

Do you know a school aged youth who needs support with literacy skills? The Youth Services Bureau is excited to announce a new program, Vibrant Literacy! This program focuses on building key literacy foundational skills and fosters a love of reading for those who may be below grade reading levels. The program meets on Mondays and Wednesdays at 3pm or 4pm or Tuesdays and Thursdays at 3pm or 4pm. Spaces are limited so please register today!
